MY STUDENT IS ALSO INVOLVED IN SPORTS. CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE THEIR PRACTICE SCHEDULE?

Our class times and locations are set by August of every year so that families can decide if this once-a-week activity will fit into the family schedule. Students are expected to attend all classes to maintain a steady rate of progress and be able to experience the full benefits of music education. Our program allows three absences for the 27-week program. Any unexcused absences over the limit of three may result in the student falling behind, unable to perform at recitals, or withdrawal from the program. We urge families wanting to be involved in sports and music to carefully review conflicts before committing to our programs.

HOW DO I SIGN MY STUDENT UP FOR BRAVO! VAIL MUSIC MAKERS HACIENDO MUSICA?

There are three steps:

  1. Head to Sawyer to create an account and save time on the day of registration.
  1. Register on bravovail.org/musicmakers on August 19 at 7:00PM or plan to attend an in-person registration at Gypsum Elementary or Avon Elementary (date and time to be announced).
  1. Set a reminder for August 19 because classes will fill up fast! A select number of spots will be reserved for in-person registrations.

CAN I REGISTER FOR SPRING SEMESTER INSTEAD OF FALL SEMESTER?

Currently, we only admit new students to the program during open registration in August. If you miss the registration deadline, please email Education@BravoVail.org to join our waitlist. If you move into the valley mid semester, please contact our office for availability and placement.

MY STUDENT HAS ALREADY TAKEN LESSONS OR IS AN OLDER STUDENT. CAN I REGISTER MY STUDENT FOR AN UPPER-LEVEL CLASS?

If your student already has experience playing violin, viola, cello, bass, or piano, please send a picture of your student’s most recent performance repertoire to Education@BravoVail.org and a member of our Education Staff will be in contact with you to discuss your student’s level placement in an upper-level class or a chamber ensemble.

DO YOU HAVE AN ENSEMBLE CLASS FOR OTHER STRING INSTRUMENTS?

Yes, we have an intermediate ensemble or an advanced ensemble for string instruments: violin, viola, cello, and bass. We also have an advanced piano chamber ensemble class for students who have studied at least five years and are currently taking private lessons.
